About
Draft — the "who's behind PORTÉE" section below is a placeholder to replace, never invented. The rest can be published as-is or adjusted from /admin/textes.
PORTÉE is Montreal's classical concert calendar — from the independent quartet to the main stage. Montreal is a festival that never stops; PORTÉE keeps its programme, in French and English.
Why PORTÉE exists
Montreal's classical concerts are scattered across dozens of websites, Facebook pages, and newsletters — independent ensembles are often the hardest to find, even though they're what keeps the scene alive day to day. PORTÉE brings it all together in one place, without favouring major institutions over independents: every concert holds the same rank, and visibility isn't for sale.
The goal is twofold: give visibility to niche concerts, and renew the audience — especially for people who don't know where to start.
Who's behind PORTÉE
[To complete: who Jean is, his background, why he started this project — written in the first person.]
How it works
Organizers submit their poster or a link at /annoncer; PORTÉE drafts a listing that the organizer checks before submitting it. Nothing is published without review. See the editorial charter for the principles that govern the project.
